Fire Safety and Emergency Response

Target Audience

All Workers

Goal

To be aware of fire preventative and safe evacuation theory in the event of a fire

Objectives

At the end of the session the participant should be able to:

  • List their duties as Fire Wardens or Section Leaders
  • Recognise emergency warning sounds, codes, lighting
  • Identify fire hazards in the work place
  • Know your facility; fire maps and equipment
  • Select appropriate fire fighting aids 
  • Calling the fire brigade and evacuation procedures
  • Rescuing vulnerable and immobile clients for evacuation
  • List of residents, staff, visitors and contractors check at the evacuation site
  • Record keeping in the event of a fire
  • Audits
  • Practicing Audits and Drills
