Care of person with cognitive impairment (Delirium & Dementia)

Target Audience

Nursing Staff


Goal

To equip all staff with specific knowledge they need to when caring for a care recipient with dementia & delirium.


Objectives

At the end of the session the participant should be able to

  • Identify the signs & symptoms of dementia & delirium
  • Manage the symptoms of dementia & delirium
  • Draw a plan of care for the patients with Dementia & Delirium
  • To promote individualised engagement with the clients social support network
  • Maintain a safe environment for both staff and client
  • Ensure effective collaboration with other relevant service providers
